Op de plaats waar het flapje eerst zat, corrigeert een laser het zicht. De laser haalt een minuscule hoeveelheid weefsel weg onder het flapje. De keuze voor een lensimplantaat wordt gemaakt op basis van de afwijking van het oog (dioptrie\u00ebn).
